Only if deposits in a suitable filter are the relevant cause. Engine or sensor faults can also trigger warnings. Your garage should investigate the cause and complete the required checks.

Follow your own vehicle’s handbook. Some soot loading may be addressed through manufacturer-approved regeneration, but ash is not burned away. Seek professional advice if the warning persists. Do not keep driving with serious symptoms to try to force a clean.

No. An MOT assesses multiple systems and the vehicle must meet the applicable requirements. Cleaning alone does not guarantee a pass or correct other faults.
